What is CraftedStays?

Direct-booking website builder for short-term rental operators

CraftedStays is a direct-booking website builder purpose-built for short-term rental operators, giving hosts and property managers a fast, modern site without the OTA commission. Sites pair conversion-focused property pages and integrated booking with a built-in blog — the surface inkSTR publishes to, so your direct-booking site earns its own traffic instead of waiting on the OTAs.

Why CraftedStays operators pair with inkSTR

CraftedStays gives you a polished, conversion-focused direct booking site. But even the best site needs a steady stream of content to rank. InkSTR writes and publishes that content automatically — no exporting, no copy-pasting, no manual formatting.

The integration is built on CraftedStays’ own publishing API: articles arrive with SEO metadata, categories, and images already handled, and mentions of your properties link straight to their live booking pages.

Questions about the integration

Create an API key in your CraftedStays dashboard under Settings → API Keys, then paste it into your inkSTR project’s publishing settings. InkSTR verifies the key and lists your site automatically.

Both are supported. By default inkSTR auto-publishes on your content calendar schedule. Prefer eyes on everything first? Turn on "Require Approval Before Publishing" in your project settings — articles still generate on schedule but wait for you to review, edit, and publish each one. Updates to already-published articles are held for your review by default either way.

The CraftedStays connection reads your site’s property list so articles can link property mentions to the right booking pages. Deeper property data — amenities, photos, guest reviews — comes from connecting your PMS directly to inkSTR, a Scale-plan feature.

Yes — publishing requires CraftedStays’ Marketing Hub add-on (the module that powers your blog) to be active on your site. If it isn’t, inkSTR tells you exactly that (rather than a generic error) with a link to activate it.

Yes. InkSTR adapts to your brand voice, property details, and market positioning, and every article can be edited before or after it publishes.
